I'd probably go with a magnetic mounted one.

Like many, I'd use it 1x or 2x a year.

The idea has merit (and my attention).
Thanks for posting it.

Looked very protective, although I don't expect to lean items against the cab, it might be a remote possibility. - I sort of like the 'tough' look, and have their lower door protective panels as a Christmas Gift already installed.
I’d say a “tough” look for a truck would be things like mud tires, a lift, a winch, skid plates, rock sliders, tow hooks and aftermarket bumpers.

Taped on cheap plastic pieces never make a truck look tough.

The Lobo is a street truck, man. Here on the street we have our own definition of tough. Peace out ✌

That’s a critical point for air flow, I’d bet it screws your already limited aerodynamics up even more.
Any wind noise at big speeds ?
You are correct, sir - the drag coefficient increased from .3908 to .3910. Although you did not consider the additional 4lbs of sweet downforce at 100mph!

Although, like you, I’m a nitpicker and usually take into account such items as drag & downforce. And many others have correctly noted the functionality of this protector.

But all that considered - I put it on MY cab for the rough & tumble of life on the street.

Wind noise of the protector? Hard to hear over the din of the fake engine enhancement and the incessant roar of the windows and tires. Base Lobos on 19 inch wheels & lowered suspension are loud on the inside!

My latest 3M Tape mod. $29 paint protection strip if you have to lean/carry ladders etc in your Maverick work truck.

My Lobo isn’t a work truck, but I’m ditching the SoCal lowered street truck look for a more rugged SoAz ranch hand look grrrr.

Lifts are for pavement princess vehicles though, they definitely reduce the functionality of a truck.

The cab tapers downward at the rear making the protector almost invisible. My garage is too cluttered for a wide side view pic - but the “nubs” are visible and become more apparent as you move towards the rear. The person behind you at a stoplight can’t miss them;)

Here's a look nearly level from behind, you can actually see the roof above all but a couple of those bumps. - Just installed mine earlier this afternoon, along with the true DOT Approved LED 3rd Brake Light.

It does give a nice 'Rough & Tumble' look to the truck.

Is it soft rubber mat? Or it's hard ABS molding plastic?!

They're somewhat soft TPU like material. If you push down on it, it will flex & bend. Same material as the lower door protectors in my profile picture.

I’ll never use it’s intended purpose - leaning stuff against it. Instead, I’m going for a transformers style Maverick trying to be a Tacoma haha. Air Design hood scoop on order - you’re going to love that I bet ❤
Well... now you have me wanting a Go-Bot Mavericoma (oooh) I was already trying to find a Transformer Tacoma!!! Lmao
