P0299 low boost code (EcoBoost)

Anyone get this? Happened on a road trip. Engine low power mode 3 times then set the light. If you had it, what was the prognosis? Thanks in advance!

I read someone that had boost go out that it was something to do with the turbo waste gate. But in their case they were towing near max capacity for a long trip. I think theirs was not temporary and required replacing the waste gate mechanism.

Yes, happened when I was towing my travel trailer at high altitudes. Light went off on my way home. I am going to call my dealer and get it scheduled. Thanks!

Exact same issue. In my case it was the Turbo - Bypass valve - BOV - Replaced - reset all codes. For all the system resets this service required the truck sure drives a lot nicer afterwards for some reason.

For anyone else who had this problem, did your dealer clear the light and give you the, “can’t replicate the problem,” speech? That is what I am worried about.

Update.
truck is still at the dealer.
dealer was trying to tell me that I was towing too much. That my 4K towing package can only tow 2000lbs. I said, “no, it has the 4K towing package.” I would have thought they could have figured out that one on their own. Doesn’t really instill any confidence.
they said they tested the turbo and everything is testing good. They want me to bring it in with the trailer hooked up.
I will keep you updated.

Just spoke with my ford dealership again, they can’t replicate the problem and everything tests good. Exactly what I was worried was going to happen. I am going to hook up my trailer (at their request) and take it back in.

I won't be towing over 2K, but still I wanted all the assurance that the rig is far more capable than I need. Towed a used electric golf cart I bought as a 2nd vehicle yesterday, that's the extent thus far.

I am very interested in seeing how this works out for you.

Only reason I bought this configuration and not a hybrid was for my travel trailer. The service advisor told me they will hook it up to the computer and drive it with the trailer attached and see how it goes. All I can say is, so far I am not happy and my wife is pissed. She said what I am thinking, a 3 month old truck with 6000 miles should not be having issues.
