I am contemplating buying the Gator Recoil aluminum tonneau cover for my 2024 Ford Maverick. I noticed on other discussion threads there have been thoughts about the drain tubes that come out of the box containing the spooled-up cover and where the drain tubes go through the bottom or side of the pick up bed. I contacted Gator and they said the box that holds the spooled-up metal cover goes down 11 5/8 inches from the lip of the top of the pickup bed. There are two possible drain holes for the Gator Recoil drain tubes. There is a rubber plug in the side of the bed, shown inside the red circle in this photo. That rubber grommet covering the hole is only about 6 inches below the lip of the pick up bed. That drain hole would presumably be covered up by the box that holds the spooled-up cover when it is fully reeled in. Another drain hole in the bottom of the bed, shown with the red arrow, is much smaller in diameter, perhaps about 1/4 of an inch. So you would have to get a pretty small drain hose to drain water through the bed. Can someone who owns the Gator Recoil tell me if that cover
would indeed be able to drain water out of either of these possible drain holes? Thanks.
