If I had a ford lease I don't think it would be a problem they would likely extend it, but I have a Chevy can you see me asking them to extend my lease a few months while am waiting for my FORD, especially with the used car shortages they want my car back. we will see unless I get lucky and my truck gets built..
I wouldn't think you would need to tell them why. Just tell them you have a life situation and you need an extension. Wouldn't hurt to try.

I ordered the base XL, Oxford white, with a hitch and full size spare from my dealer here in St. John's first week of November. Was told that it would be 3 to 4 months. I also ordered separately, window shades, body side and hood decals/stripes from the dealer, and I will install. I will order the Truxedo Truxport folding tonneau cover in January. When the truck arrives, I will do the truck bed with Line X. Waiting for it to come in is going is getting more difficult.
I order my Maverick (hybrid) in Nov '21 and just talked to the dealer yesterday. He said they have no allocations for the 2022 Mav and my order would be pushed to 2023
