This thread has me confused. How can the order be "previewed" as a Priority 10? Based on reading this forum for the last 2 years, "preview" typically only happens as a result of an order converting to a Priority 2. Did this order go from Prioity 10, to 2, and back to 10 (which normally does not happen)? In the past, Ford would take a Priority 10-19 [a number set by the dealer] order, convert it to Priority 2 based on dealer allocation (i.e., if dealer had 5 allocation spots they may convert 8-9 orders to Priority 2), then preview all the Priority 2 orders from that dealer to dermine which they can make that month. The Priority 2s tended to stay as a Priority 2 and would be the first to be reviewed the following week until they eventually were filled (with some orders having specific constraints being in Priority 2 status for many months). Just curious if Ford has changed its process again or if the OP got wrong information?
Yes, except for the 22s with VINs, they have not been setting Mavericks to priority 2.

I see Maverick selection as going through two gates. The first is your dealer's allocation. If you made it to priority 2 you knew dealer allocation was no longer an issue and constraints, the 2nd gate, was the only thing holding you back.

Don't know why they are not using priority 2 this year other than the 22 VIN rollover issue.

No one gets a VIN until they are scheduled. It was previewed, but not scheduled yet.
Ok thanks, I have just received a VIN after 8 months. Canada.

Dealer told me a week ago they had it at Priority 10. When I called Ford CS on Friday, they told me it Previewed, but they didn't have the priority level info. Maybe Ford did change it to a 2. I have no idea, just what the dealer and Ford CS told me.

Ford does not change the priority (that is a dealer only thing). The fact that you were previewed, means that Ford was looking at your build and options to see it that would fit into their scheduling for the next go around. I would say that you have a pretty good shot at getting scheduled (just my opinion). It's still a crap shoot as to the logic behind scheduling. Best of luck!

The xl itself is highly constrained as in my opinion is mainly for fleet orders so Ford is only releasing some for retail orders if the fleet orders are scheduled first and if their is enough xl parts they build a few just to say they made some retail orders.

I know right! I was pretty surprised when my XL (priority 19) was scheduled and built. It was stripped down to zero options except for AWD. Super happy with the truck and have already started with tons of mods. I still have a stripped down Hybrid on order (also priority 19) still waiting to be scheduled 🤞.

Ford does not change the priority (that is a dealer only thing). Dealer can change it down to 10. Ford will take it lower.

My understanding is dealers can only assign retail orders from priority 10-19. Priority 1-9 and 20+ (for those unfortunate souls sent to no-COVP hell at priority code 22) is for Ford only.
