Options You Can Add - Prior to Build Date?

On 10.13.2021 (received email build date week of February 27, 2023) ordered an XLT Hybrid with Lux Package & Ford 360. Now I understand FORD has dropped a number of items from the Lux package including remote start, spray-in bedliner, LED lighting and bed tie-down rails. I'm wondering if I can add any of these items back into the build as options along with the sliding rear window and Tonneau Pickup Box Cover – Soft Folding? However, I don't want to do anything that will impact the build date.

If you've received a VIN and build week, you're more than likely Priority 2.

While it is possible for the dealer to ask it be switched to Priority 10 to add/subtract things and then request it be moved back into 2. Even if the latter is approved by Ford great chance it WILL affect your place in line, especially if any of the additions are constraint impacted.

In short, IMHO wouldn't suggest tempting fate by trying to fiddle with the order at this late date.

I agree with last post. If you have a build date, count your lucky stars. So much of what you want to add can be done AFTER you get your truck, so I would not chance messing up my build date.

I'm gonna go against the grain a bit and say it might be worth a try. I wouldn't bother with dealer installed options like tonneau covers though, those are constraints. The other options you listed aren't constraints and the bed rail and spray liner are currently discounted.

Once you have vin# you cant add or change.

I was able to add the SIBL/CMS bundl with a VIN & build date. Build week didn’t change for me, but I’d just let it be if build date is your main concern.

I added the spray in bed liner and cargo management system after my VIN was created and build date was scheduled and it was still built on time.

I’ve had a MY22 VIN and multiple original build dates since October 2022, I received my MY23 VIN and actual final build date in early December, I made the option addition in mid December (after the SIBL/CMS combo discount was announced), it was built in January and just arrived at the dealer this week.

I think the real cutoff is before the window sticker is made.

PS. My sticker does include the free cargo management system discount.

I called FORD this morning (2/20/23) and was told that I was unable to add any options with my build date of February 27 - one week from today. But it does sound like there is some flexibility. I'll just live without a sliding rear window. I believe the spray-in bedliner, LED lighting and tie-down rails can always be added aftermarket as well as the Tonneau Soft Folding Box Cover.
