I tried some alpine s series in the front door because I used them in the past and they had some decent bump for a midrange speaker but the stock speaker has more bass than these alpines. Unfortunately I broke the stock speaker so I was wondering if anyone had one laying around that upgraded their system and I could buy it from you or if there is a replacement speaker that has a some decent bump for around a hundred bucks for a pair. I just want to replace the door speakers in the front I'm not going to worry about the tweeters of the rear.
Thank you

I upgraded to these power bass, plug and play, tweeters also. I think it was around 130$. But I have my original still in the power bass box if you're interested.

Yes I'm definitely on the fence about upgrading or just going back to oem. i was looking at some sets that start to hit on the lower end @45mhz instead of the 70hhz that the alpine and power bass start at. i found 3 sets that look promising.
How much did you want for the speakers?
Also what speaker bracket did you use for the install?
Thank you

With those no bracket was needed. And If you pay for shipping and a box to ship them in you can have them. They will just sit on a shelf and collect dust here.

Wow that's very generous of you. I appreciate your kindness. Could you maybe give me a couple days to decide? earlier today I was browsing Amazon and seen that they had an open box buy for the JBL set and I picked those up. they should be here on Saturday. If it's not a noticeable improvement then I would definitely like to get those from you. Thank you

JBL Stadium GTO620 High-Performance Multi-Element Speakers and Component Systems
I just realized that they are 2 ohms so I don't even know if they will work correctly with my head unit I should have went with the Rockford Fosgate P1650 Punch 6.5"

I think it sounded good with the extra tweeter it definitely didn't make it sound bad by any means and the speakers also did sound good they were just a tiny bit less bass than the stock ones but I'm starting to think that's more of a power issue. If I had an amp I think it would sound much better or maybe if I upgraded to a lower RMS speaker it would be good.

Hello thank you for giving me a few days.
Well I think I'm done experimenting for now these ones did sound pretty good but when I went to reattach my door panel it wouldn't go back on I think the tweeter might stick out a little bit too far although if I rotated it it might get in the right position and still shut correctly but it really wasn't that much of an improvement, i think they need more power. so I'll just stick with the stock until a third party company comes out with a plug and play upgrade. You would think with how many of these trucks that have been sold somebody would start producing a drop in upgrade.

It would be great if you could send me those speakers and in return I'll send you some treats from Hawaii. when shipping to Hawaii the only cost effective way is a priority flat rate box from the USPS. I had a large flat rate box here at the house so I put the JBL speakers in it to test and there was plenty of room for them. Would it be too much of an inconvenience to obtain a large priority flat rate box? Almost all post offices have them available for free. Also I know you can order them online for free but they come and sets of 10... I can also email you a prepaid shipping label.

I think that all three of the speakers above are very nice and would serve me very well. If you have a good set of ear phones, you can listen to each on Crutchfield and compare them to each other.

Back in the 70's and 80's I had a pair of Bose 901 speakers and 601 speakers in our den. The 901s in the front and the 601s in the rear. I came to love the bright sounds of the Bose, yet they gave good base and wonderful midbass and mid range sound. The worked great with the Surf, Rock, and even Folk Rock sounds prevalent in the '60s through '80s. Listening to various speakers on Crutchfield with a pair of Bose headphones revealed the bright sounds of the Kenwood component 6.5" KFC-P710PS or 7" KFC-XP184C speakers. Ironically, I like the sound of the Kenwood KFC-1666 (old version 1665) 6.5" and the KFC-1796PS 2 way speakers as much as the more expensive examples on Crutchfield.

I think the JBL Stadium and Infinity Kappas sound very similar to the Kenwood and have that bright sound I like. Both are made by Harman. For me the Powerbass are great on the midbass and lower ranges, but lack the bright sound for old rock. But that is just my opinion, which is worth nothing.
