Retirement truck. 2025 Maverick Lariat nearly fully loaded. These are the only things that I have added to the exterior; enclosed the open towing/hitch

area, put on a Ford hard rubber hitch coverage, added an AWD/Hybrid badge, black lettering, and an A-1-A decal. The moonroof is open and I’m ready to blast some Jimmy Buffett “beach music.”

I'm only semi-retired but I did similar stuff to my `24 Lariat Hybrid. Hitch hole cover, AZ flag hitch plug, tailgate lower assist kit, door sill protectors, center console organizers, Weather Tech mats with sun-shield, wireless car-play/android dongle, plus a few more little things unsure and I'm installing Mabett fender flares this weekend. As another member commented on different thread, I've probably spent almost as much as the truck cost! (Not really) But, nothing wrong with a bit of personal upgrading and mild customizing and it gets me away from the "honey-do" list.

I barely got the word "license" entered into Google before the words "License Plate Lookup" populated with results including links to a reddit explaining how to get everything you need.

So, let us paranoid war vets be paranoid.

Are you sure those results actually give you meaningful information? I just also quickly searched reddit and it led me to sites where I can find the make/model/vin of a vehicle by license plate but not actual owner information

Some of us don't use our real names on purpose. A license plate is personally identifying. Is it possible to eventually track us down? Probably. But no sense in making it easy.

You know what can be done..if you give your vin a key can be programmed and then poof it's gone..there was an "official ford account " that was on here asking for the vin and closest dealer so they can get your location and then steal the truck..ford DOES NOT DO THAT dont fall for it it's a scam.

Unless you have access to state DOT databases or law enforcement databases you can't do anything with a license plate

I like the "why make it easy" response. Not a bad habit, especially if you are posting about misc. installs like guns safes and expensive items. Databases are hacked all the time.

Never underestimate someone who is motivated, go back to Reddit and search "Shia Lebouff and Capture the Flag".

I don't understand hiding the license plate. It's in plain view everywhere you drive or park.
