Okay, what's the trick with this clip?

I'm trying to install a dashcam and i can't figure out how to get the pictured clip to release.

This is above the reading lights, and is where the pigtail adapter is supposed to patch in. In Mangoal's installation video (which was clearly filmed in something OTHER than a Maverick) the clip just seems to pull free with a little wiggle. Mine has what appears to be locking tab, but even when pulled, the clip remains stubbornly attached.

As you can see, I'm starting to damage the clip trying to get it to release. Really rather annoying.

Nevermind. I got it.

press (push down) on that clear plastic tab to release the lock.

It seemed like what worked was squeezing the black tab indicated below, but maybe in so doing, I was actually putting pressure on the clear/white bit also.

Had your same frustration installing a pigtail at that connector. Maddening until I pressed that little black tab. The rear lights are almost the same configuration (slide the release tab up and then depressing a secondary tab)

Posting about it here helped, because I couldn't actually *see* the secondary tab until I took a pic of it.

Glad you got it sorted! With the black tab and the clear slide stacked like that, it's easy to miss what's actually holding it. This thread will save the next Maverick owner some frustration.
