My xl , awd does not have the fx4 package. Just a decal.....

It might sound dumb but the main reason I got the FX4 was for the metal under engine cover/skid plate. I had a 2wd Escape with the depleted uranium felt skid plate/cover and I managed to collect about 20 acres of stickers (grass burrs) on and in that damn thing!! I’ve never seen anything like it! I worked on getting them off of it for at least two hours, pokey little buggers

The receiver hitch is nice too

My next upgrade is a skid plate. Used stop sign. Been on the subura forums and they love the stop sign skid plates!

My 06 GTO had a 3/16 steel skid plate. I guess it had to be wallaby proof. Friggen heavy duty.

I did about 50 miles today. The lil maverick made it through unscathed. Almost got stuck twice but pulled through.

When I lived in Florida I loved exploring the wetlands. I did it with canoe and mountain bike. Went back awhile ago where there was water as far as you could see now there's caked, dried mud. That's why I want a camper with screens for my Mav.

2 months ago this was all dry. In a few weeks the easy dry trails will be wet and muddy.
