Noise while sitting idle after 20 hours

Have a 2.0 XL no frills except a spray-in liner and full-size spare. Anyhow, it is sitting in the garage and I am by my workbench about 24" away from rear driver's side, and I hear a noise. Sounded like something on the house, maybe someone printing something. A few moments later I hear it again. No, this was in the garage. Open the driver's door and hear the same noise followed by some others and the lights go on, which is standard. But the first 1/2 second after opening the door, that is the sound I heard. Does anyone know if when sitting idle, for over 20 hours, the maverick does a check that makes noise? I'll try to get a recording and post it.

Modern vehicles can and do produce mysterious chirps and clicks at all hours while sitting idle.

"Shut off" doesn't mean what it once did.

My truck makes random noises when sitting. As long as it starts up and drives well, I don’t care about the noises.
