Hello
just picked up my Maverick Larit today. So far, I am very pleased, and with the 4k tow package hopefully will be able to tow my Formula Ford to the races.

Welcome to the club, you will find a lot of valuable information on here. Anyway I also have an Oxford White XLT so I really like the looks of your truck. Do the Mirror Caps just pop on and off in some fashion? I would really like to have mine painted. Don't think I will tackle the door handles right now. Truck looks really good 👍👍

Thank you @Mdmac, I've been a member of many vehicle forums over the internet years. This one is very informative, as I've found the ford truck forums to always be.

Yes they do come off, but as big as the caps are I was terrified that after painting them and trying to reassemble them. That I would chip or scratch the fresh paint, so I just removed the mirror and tapped them off for a less nerve racking job.

Ok, now I have to ask. So does the glass come out and if so is it pretty easy? Or did you just tape/cover the glass? Did you use Automotive Paint as well? I want to do it so just looking for some information. I heard the door handles were a pain in the A** to remove/reinstall so I will leave them alone. Thank you again and nice truck

Yes I got the glass to come out easily with a flat head screwdriver, there's tabs you just turn and twist and it pops right off. Then there was two connectors for the heated glass I disconnected, then there's four screws Phillips had you take loose to remove the trim around the glass.

Then the cap comes off, but the cap just made me nervous like I said as it was so big I was afraid to scratch it after painting. Which is the reason why I just decided to remove the whole mirror and tape off the entire thing and just paint the cap.

Ok, thank you for the information. I may have to do that to mine soon. Looks so much better, wish Ford would have taken care of it for us.
