New Lobo owner

"Offroading" the new Lobo.
Nothing too serious, but had to squeeze between some rocks and bushes, and climb up a bit of a grade.
Coming from a Focus ST, it feels good to actually get OFF the pavement some.

Welcome, but the LOBO is not an off road package, it is a rally package. If you plan on off roading a Tremor would have worked better. The ground clearance on the Lobo is lower than other models. Just a heads up that it is lowered so may bottom out easily.

fair point. a lobo can handle smooth 2 track, but if you see anything other than shallow potholes or 2" tall rocks, I'd get out and check carefully, and turn around if needed.

I understand this. I was def. out of vehicle and checking clearance and width. I was feeling it out guys. I understand the purpose of the Lobo, and the Tremor.
I don't plan to go run trails in Moab with the truck. I was a few hundred feet off of the highway and pulled off to test some capabilities and get an idea of clearance, width, and traction.

This is the most scraping I've done so far. (see pic below with front flap just touching the curb) I was in a parking lot at Taco Bell.. lol I was actually pretty impressed with the approach angle for what it is.

After seeing your picture I looked the next time I parked at a curb. Since mine is a Lariat with 4k towing it has higher ground clearance than your Lobo but it still was very close to scraping the curb. Had the curb been 1/2" taller it would have scraped quite a bit. Thanks for making me aware to check. Now I try to park in non-curbed spots.

Coming from a Focus ST I was pretty conscious of the front end clearance. And I'm still learning the clearance on the front of the Lobo. I'm pretty sure the Mav is shorter from front of tire to the front bumper chin, which helps quite a bit in clearing obstacles. I'm not too concerned about scraping these front flaps now n then.

Attached are a few pics I took while testing the clearance off pavement a bit. The tire tends to roll up the obstacle enough to keep its 'chin' from catching or scraping in these types of situations.

you will definitely drag the rear first, that's just what trucks do. it's pretty hard to know if you're going to drag or not unless you have the 360 cameras and can use trail view mode like a '25 lariat or tremor. (I assume a lobo 702A can, but have never seen anyone confirm.)

Bit of a washed out-mud hole on the entrance into this area. I thought it would be close, but no scrapes in or out.

Haha I think of it like more 'car' (unibody) than "TRUCK" (body-on-frame) myself as well, at least in the handling department - where the *fun* happens. And I also think that's quite fine.
I bought this vehicle for its ability to feel and drive like a car, but with a bed that I can haul some toys, things, or do some light duty towing with. 90+% of the time I want a car to run errands, commute, road trip, rip around some twisties. Then I want to use the bed 5-10% of the time. All while being efficient, quick, and agile.

I don't need/want the Weight and ride that accompanies a normal 'truck'. I understand the need for and existence of both types of pickups. They do different things, and this is good.
I've owned full size 1/2 ton 4wd. I've owned some older small pickups (S10, Ranger - before they got big and fat and went from small/compact to the equivalent of a full-size from 20 years ago).
