Is there a chance if you placed an order with deposit, that the MY23 will be built and delivered before they open the doors for the MY23? If so, that's very disappointing. Finish the backlog of the current year before you open it up to more frustrated customers that will be undoubtedly delayed until Hell freezes over.... I don't get it.

Frustrated hopeful new owner of a 23 Lariat, Carbonized Grey, Lux, Sun, 4K.....

I think FordVideoGuy either posted or had in one of his videos that the 2023 order bank would open in August 2022 with production start in October.

Yes, I did see his video. But my question is, why would they announce a new MY23 build date already, when they can't even fullfil the My22's. This doesn't make any sense.
I went into this with the delay expectation, but it does appear that Ford's, parts and Manufacturing delays are significant. I believe Americans might go with imports that are truly imported, due to parts and Chip availability that's are already on that side of the world and don't have to cross the Altantic in the cargo ship waiting to be offloaded and through customs......

LOL. NO. why would Ford do this? The order bank opens, your order gets placed in a queue and you wait.

Ford likes to keep people waiting like the line at your local DMV.
Not really, Ford and the other manufacturers are losing money with all these delays. NOw with the Truckers blocking the bridge between Canada and the US more delays.

Ford announced a delayed my23 opening date to let us know that they are planning to BUILD 2023 Mavericks and they have most assuredly placed orders for parts and probably also for my24 planning due to required lead times. They have already announced that 2022's parts are already committed. Note that the chip shortage is worldwide (a lot of chip production was contracted by by other manufacturers making other things like TV's, refrigerators, led light bulbs, WiFi devices, etc, etc, etc. Also chip production was reduced by fab centers burning or otherwise ceasing production. Also consider that importing vehicles will also be hindered by ship supply, port restrictions, import duties. Just be glad if shipping problems don't cause shipping costs to double(?). I have two 2022 XLT's on order and am thinking I will keep my 2012 Honda CR-V as a "family and friend" loaner at least until demand easies.

This is a common practice especially today. Hype up your product and then hold the orders and let people go crazy over it. Have you ever been at a club where a line of people standing outside then when you get in, hardly anyone inside? This is a similar situation. The main thing that Ford got going on with the Maverick is the price. Once they jack this thing to $25K MSRP for an bone stock XL, I highly doubt you will see the same demand level that we are seeing right now.

(eyes rolling)

Ford hasn't hyped the Maverick, it's been a word of mouth, I haven't seen ONE commercial for the Maverick on TV, so where do you get this "HYPE" from....
