I made my own tie downs which can be tucked away under the hood when not in use. Used nylon straps from a tote bag attached with bolts already present. Used a soldering iron to burn the holes as cutting it can cause nylon to fray. You need one for each side and the fact that they can be mounted near the front of the hood means they'll work for longer kayaks. I've used this set up in several vehicles over the years and they held tight in high winds at interstate speeds. Anything more elaborate is overkill.
