I assume your daughter flew home from out of state and has a car where she lives? Question is, why didn't she rent a car?
The trip to and from the airport could be the only alone time I get with her so why waist the opportunity. Besides, a trip to the airport is probably the longest trip I make being retired. Need to charge that battery.

Air tag? Don’t all have location on Ford Pass?
Fuse 11 is missing, someone pulled it out. I need to know where my truck is, no one else does.

After the first time one of your kids wreck a car, you don't worry so much. Kind of like the first scratch on a vehicle . . .

I was in the never buy the car; kid needs to save camp, knowing that I'd kick in extra because daddy gets the maintenance. And then one of my kids saw most of a nationally reported police shooting (crazed woman threatening to kill the baby, attacking cars with her knife, etc.). At which point it changed to "no more busses".

The attorney in the next office was selling his late father in law's 1992 Eldorado Touring Coupe. I was hesitant that it might not be heavy enough.

She showed otherwise soon enough.

The empty driveway was the van being stolen, not a kid wrecking a car.

And I'm now doing behind the wheel with the last kid, at 26.

My daughter (32 yo) is home for the first time since I got my MY24 Lariat Hybrid. No one has driven it but me since I drove it off the lot. Well naturally, she needed to go out visiting friends and naturally my wife said she should use my truck rather than her Lexus.

I just went to check the mail, and I got a deep sinking feeling seeing my driveway empty. I can deal with “deep sleep” issues, but an empty driveway is almost too much to bear. First world problems are real. Thank goodness I have an Air Tag in the truck.

I think the ford app is more up to minute on keeping track of the location.

Ya, but Ford doesn't need to know what my location is. Ergo, fuse 11 has been placed in the glove box next to the OEM lamps replace by LEDs and an Air Tag will get me to the parking lot when I forget where I parked the truck.

I actually have the air tag as well. It is partly my back-up for if the truck gets taken and the battery disconnected, but also so my wife can stop asking me where I am. She complains that it is often behind on location updates. She used to have a family tracker on my phone, but I hated how much faster by battery drained, so I deleted it. I hardly ever use either one, but I did use the app the other day to start the truck up and have the cab warmed up a little for my daughter after practice.

I’m in the same situation. Why have your child spend money to rent a vehicle when there is a fully capable vehicle available at no cost. It’s not like she’s stealing it. It will come back. Flesh and blood. Many people do a lot to help their child.

It was just a question I asked. No harm, no foul.
