Driving down the freeway at 6 AM on the Fourth of July, almost no cars on the road and I hear a loud pop. I thought something hit the roof, I get to my destination and I see this.
I'm so bummed, I'm the type that likes my vehicle's to look their best. Got an estimate today for the passenger side front panel, $665, yikes. ☹

Perfect excuse to get some aftermarket fender flares. Same Price, maybe even cheaper than the repair.

Use touchup, then get it replaced if it continues to irritate.
I was just reading about paint pens? Someone said order a paint pen from Ford, any suggestions on that?

I always scratch my paint before leaving the lot: just to get it out of the way. You know it’s coming, so best to get it outta the way. Touch up paint time for sure. I would never pay a body shop to fix that šŸ˜Ž

I have 3 scratches at 3 different spots around the front, 2 on the bumper and one almost exactly where yours got wacked and also with a rock. I still have a backorder on paint from Ford (Iconic Silver) from May. Bought some from ebay for a Bronco Sport and a company called Paint Scratch that makes touchup paint. I’ve had a hell of a time getting the fender to match since it's a metallic paint. That spot is same area as yours just forward about two inches. Good news on the touchup paint is if you are not happy rub it with rubbing alcohol and you can start all over. I’m on my 3rd try because the metal flake isn’t a great match. Yours in non metallic and should be ok. Put thin coats on until you get it even with the top coat. Pre-sand those rough edges before starting, and when you make a stroke with the paint brush don’t backtrack, correct a-missed area on pass two or three. I think you and get it 80% better.

Thank you for the info! I saw paintscratch online, I wonder if my local shop will just do that type of repair? šŸ¤” I think I'll ask today.

If they don't try another body shop. There is no reason they can't fix this without replacing replacing the panel.
