I got my first check engine light on my Tremor at 28,000 miles. About a week before, I noticed a shudder under heavy acceleration while merging on the highway. No check engine light at first. I was avoiding full acceleration until a good time came up at work to drop it off at the dealership. Then, the other day, same thing, merging on the highway, heavy acceleration, shudder, but this time I did get a check engine light. It blinked a few times then went out :( My baby is sick hehe

The g/f had a similar experience with her 2024 Ford Escape ST-Line....turned out to be a bad coil pack on cylinder #1. Replaced under warranty and on our way.

I hope mine is that simple. This is my first check engine light but my second warranty repair. A few months ago, my telematics module quit. That was also not a big deal since all it did was kill the speed limit recognition part of the advanced cruise control and I lost communication with the Ford app.

I dropped off my Maverick yesterday afternoon, after work. This morning, my daughter dropped me off at work. About 10:30 this morning, I got the call that they replaced a coil pack and a spark plug.

I was a little bummed about being without my baby for a day but I'm glad it was a covered fix. This makes the 5th day my truck spent in the shop:

1. Hood decal had a small chunk missing, before I bought it new, likely from the dealership's car wash crew getting a little frisky with the pressure washer. The replacement hood decal came in a few weeks later. I dropped off the truck for the day to get the decal replaced. It turned out that the wrong decal got ordered/delivered. They kept it for a second day to get the correct decal overnighted.

2. Correct hood decal delivered and installed on the next day. No charge.

3. I dropped off the truck for no truck GPS or cell data connection. They determined that the telematics module died and would be about 4 day wait for the part. I use Android Auto and Google Maps. It was not a big deal. I took the truck back home and waited for the part.

4. Telematics unit came a few days later and I dropped the truck off for another day to replace it. No charge.

5. Today's incident. Check engine light. They diagnosed, and replaced the coil pack and spark plug, all in the same day. No waiting for parts. No charge.

None of these things ever left me stranded or made the truck run poorly. Even with this misfire, it only happened at full acceleration and as long as I avoided that, you would never know there was anything wrong with the truck. The check engine light only came on once, blinked for about 30 seconds, and I never saw it again.
