I am an original 22 Maverick owner, I put my order in as soon as the order banks opened. The Maverick was such a great truck for me I turned around and placed an order for a 2023. Unfortunately, the dealer said I was unlikely to get the '23 through them as they were only going to get 1 hybrid allocation from Ford, and I was order #2 for him. My response was that was not an issue for me, if it didn't get fulfilled I would turn it into a '24 order.

When the time came, my dealer reached out and asked if I wanted to roll my order into a '24, which I did. Both the dealer and Ford had stated that any unfulfilled orders would be prioritized in 2024. After four months, I reached out to my dealer and got the run around from them. About 6-8 weeks later I reached out again. The dealer called me back and told me whoever rolled my order into a '24 screwed it up and never had prioritized the order.

Over the summer, there was some rumblings in the community about our dealer having difficulties. I was frustrated with how they treated my situation and was concerned about the direction of the dealership, so I decided to go to a dealer 30 minutes south and placed an order for a '25 the week the order banks opened up.

About a month later, the local dealership closed with no notice. The '24 order was still hanging out there when it closed.

I happened to be on my Ford account to check on my points for an upcoming oil change. I happened to click on the orders link and was surprised to see the '24 had been built and it was in transit. Ford had assigned the build to a dealer an hour north of me. The page said the truck was expected to arrive the first week in November. When I went home I told my wife about it, and said I didn't have any interest in getting this '24 at the end of the production cycle when '25 production was switching over in a few weeks. I joked and said that I am hoping when I call up to the new dealer about the '24 that I hope they sold it and maybe could leverage Ford into actually prioritizing my '25 build.

Well.....I called up Nov. 8th. Evidently Ford had not communicated the order as being transferred from another dealership. The '24 had arrived on Monday and they sold it right away. The dealer felt awful and has since called me 4 times trying to make it right and help me out.

Since it worked out like I had joked about, I contacted Ford Customer Service and gave them the story. She said there wasn't anything she could do directly, however she documented the whole situation and gave me a case number. She told me that if I gave the case number to the dealer where I placed the '25 order, they should have the ability to run it up the chain and get me prioritized.

I called my salesperson at the dealership to give him the case number. After explaining everything to him, he said "I don't think I can do anything more with this to get the order done any faster." When I asked him why, customer service said you should, he said that he had just gotten notice that my '25 is scheduled to be built on Nov. 28th! Two days later I got my email from Ford confirming the scheduled build date!

My 2024 order for Hybrid took 9 months to fill, but I was happy when I got it. In September with under 3000 miles on truck I was with my son In Jacksonville due to two unfortunate occurrences: Hurricane Helene and my husband's hospitalization and death shortly thereafter. Got message on truck stating "system shift fault" and "get service soon". Next day, truck would not go into gear and was not drivable. Had it towed to nearby dealership. Next day they told me it was ready, all they had to do was change 12V battery. Next day (are you counting the days?) same error message reappears. I go straight to dealership. They provide a loaner (which is good) but I hear nothing for one and a half weeks(which is bad). Please note in the meantime my home in Georgia was being run by a generator (15 day power outage) and no internet. All this in the middle of dealing with the death of husband (overwhelming). Finally they tell me it's ready and the explanation for the connections, computer, engine, etc. just bounces off me. On the way out of the dealership parking lot, which was very crowded, I hit something which cracked one taillight. Which I can't find a replacement for. Other than that Mrs. Lincoln--I love the truck and currently have no problems with it. Life goes on.
