I would highly recommend that if you buy the Muslogy Mud Flaps (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0BRRX3YXP/), do NOT install the felt tape that comes with them. If even a little bit of dirt/dust gets in between the felt and the paint, it acts like an effective sand paper.

I have had these on for about 500 miles, and took them off today to install some 3M Protective Tape (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B072QX69TB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1). I noticed several places where dust had worked its way onto the felt, and had started to make some very light scratches in the paint.

Also, along the trailing edge of the flaps where it contacts the paint, there is a raised "sharp" edge in the plastic from the manufacturing process. Take some fine grit sandpaper or a file and smooth that down before installing the mud flaps on the truck.

@Muslogy Auto I would recommend that you not include the felt, and instead recommend putting the 3M protective tape stuck to the truck under where the flaps contact the paint.

Stick the tape to the sides the truck under the mudflap. Any movement of the mudflap will then rub on the tape instead of on the paint.

Thank you for the advice. I just bought one set of them from their last promotion. I will use some 3M tape.

I ordered a roll of that 3M tape. I did notice rough edges from the molding as well. I haven't yet installed mine.

Thank you so much for your feedback and suggestions! It's definitely a huge help for us to make improvements. I will bring it to the team to change the felt tape next inventory. Thank you again for your suggestions!

Hey! Just wanna make a quick update on the tape.
The team has found the PPF tape to replace our original felt tapes and we will make the next inventory of mud flaps coming with the PPF tape.
And the present inventory in the Amazon warehouse is with the original felt tape. Please feel free to let us know if you need our PPF tapes and we will send it to you.

I will post our PPF tape in a new thread later. And those who purchased our mud flaps need the protective tapes, please message me.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but do I put the PPF tape on the mud flap or the truck where the flap contacts the truck?

Thanks. That's what I thought. Did you stick the PPF tape to the plastic rocker panel that is under the mud flap?

I did, yes, on the part that is on the side of the truck. I did not put any tape inside the wheelwell.

I also trimmed the tape so it matched the outline of the mud flap.
