I just read that they recommend reverting to stock air box. That seems like a step back. Just emailed them asking how necessary that is…
He knows my mods and said nothing about my Burshur intake. I believe that comes from the old Focus days where with a stock turbo, there were no gains with other intakes over stock. Especially on the RS.

Like I said, I have had two tunes on an SCT device before I went Cobb, and have then had 3 tunes before this one on the Cobb (Cobb map, and two other custom tuners), and this is by far the best.

Thanks for the comments @Snox801

You mentioned these folks, "Livernois, and tunewerks."

I know that the Cobb mentioned here and their site says you need a v3 tuner.

Suggestions for what I need would he great.

Thanks in advance.

So the Cobb is just the device that holds the tunes to load.
now Livernois does some more technical stuff so they developed a software just for them called the mycal. I prefer that setup to Cobb. It allows a bit more of a complete tune file. Even tunwerks has mentioned it. Kinda the reason they are able to do a lot of flex fuel without a e content gauge.
If you have a Cobb unit use it no sense in buying another. But if you haven’t bought anything. Look at the tuners first and pick which one you like best. Livernois I have had amazing luck and results with so I use them. But find the tuner that works best for you then see which handheld they like some even like go tuners.
If you are wanting more I for feel free to pm me and I will shoot you my number and feel free to call.

I recently decided to go with the Monster Adapt-X tune (using the @COBB Tuning Accessport) to see what all the fuss on the Focus ST/RS and Ecoboost Mustang communities has been about with this tune that uses a different way to do things based on Ford's octane learning strategy. Some of the things that people will talk about are how smooth the tune is and how it feels almost like it came from the factory without all the rough edges of other tunes you would. This will be the fourth custom tuning company that I have worked with, btw.

I ordered both the 93 octane Adapt-X tune and the E30 Adapt-X tune. We are currently on version 6 of the 93 tune are getting ready to start the E30 tune. One of the things I noticed is that during the logging and revision process, Monster has been very receptive to my questions and are very good about making sure to monitor different things each time to try to get things as precise as possible.

As for how the tune is going, it is fantastic. Very smooth. But also fantastic power whenever you give it the gas. I did have him add the Cobb Sport TCM map for the transmission because he has not developed his own transmission tuning yet, but I know that he plans to work on it.

I'll report back here once everything is complete, but right now I'm very pleased.

should be getting my tune (from monster) sent tonight! I am interested in comparing experiences with boost levels (right now my max sits around 21.5) - what max boost are you getting to right now?

Depends on conditions, but I have seen as high as 23, but it hovers around 21-22 mostly. It carries boost better, he worked on that, so that makes a huge difference. The fully electronic wastegate is holding us back. Needs a stronger one.

The Cobb Rep is suggesting the AccessPort ($665).

Looks appealing.

Oh and thank you for that offer @Snox801 will message you.

Ya in perfect world you should touch 24psi but it’s gonna be around 22-23 most the time.
flashed to adaptive x last night, had my best 0 to 60 run. What’s weird is that I am pretty much back to stock since knock octane modifier still working back to 1. Add: maverick is supposed to go 5.9 stock; and I am little behind that (might be awd vs fwd). But, I am faster than my cobb ots tune where i was at 6.01… this should improve in theory as the adaptive x tune adjusts… will keep you all posted!

You went 7.09 with the Cobb OTS tune once, so there are some inconsistencies going on with your setup, Dragy, or your location/weather.

I am lucky enough to directly compare with other tunes that I spent quite some time developing and the Adapt-X is right there if not better. Drivability certainly is better and I have lost no power and honestly believe I have gained, but of course the differences in custom tunes will be minimal once they are fully developed for your application. That is why I have no issues logging and revising with Monster although I could have just stayed with the first map. I want to get the most out of it. Plus, it will end up helping you guys.

Also, make sure you run with traction control off. You have awd, so let it do its job and kill the nannies.
