The Maverick suffers from having the aerodynamics of a brick and the extra reinforcements and gearing to be able to to perform light truck duties. The prius with the same basic drivetrain will get in the low 40's at 75 mph where my Mav ( 4ktow, awd) will get around 33 mpg. In order to minimize the aerodynamic penalty, I rarely drive over 70 mph and find that 67 gets me about 36 mpg. Since i do mostly highway driving on flat Texas roads, i am happy with 500 miles a tank ( which is what 36 mpg equals out to
It's amazing what 45 MPH (average) will do! You can see I had her up to 63 mph on the freeway section.

If 44-47 is calculated mileage, that is about right

Yep, In town driving is where this little truck really shines (33 mpg at 75 mph is nothing to be ashamed of though). With the tilting gate setting and use of straps, I have transported plywood, pavers, solar panels, loads of 10ft 1" steel pipe, 10 to 20 50lb bags of gravel, Loads of garbage...typical truck duties....and I can get 33 mpg at 75mph ...or 45mpg in town with little effort. So far , in my 30 years of driving , this truck is my favorite vehicle

at 11,000 miles you are well beyond broken in. That's just he mileage ecoboosts get unless you drive em like an old granny.

I mean 36 is still fantastic. My GLI gets about 33 doing that speed, and it's a low slung compact sports sedan with a 2 liter turbo.

The Maverick is nearly half a ton heavier and is, well, a truck. Getting 36 highway is jaw dropping.
Absolutely. I am not dissatisfied with 36 mpg in the mid 60s mph. My 2016 Golf GTI (my second favorite vehicle) couldnt even get that

So good hearing the enthusiasm from you young drivers (30 years). I've been driving 64 years and am very happy with the performance of our 25MY Mav hybrid. I think i can say in my 64 years of driving with a license this Mav may top the list. The ODO is 15K. The tires have many more miles being flat towed behind our Motorhome. Mav is both great for driving, towing, and being towed. Win, win, win!
