So, the way I understand it, any price hike that occurs after the order is placed is not supposed to be passed on by the dealer? Correct? I know Tim Bartz talked about this, but I have no idea when.

Tim has spoken about it numerous times. He has made it clear that the dealer needs to push the "protected" radio button on the software to get the price that was in effect at time or ordering. It is simple and easy to do as long as the dealer is "willing" and "able" to do so.

Willing & able are the two key words here.

That's exactly how I understand it. I'm on another thread where someone is insisting quite the opposite.

Well, the way I see it, Tim Bartz knows what the hell he is talking about. Has he been wrong on occasion? Of course, we all are, but this guy lives and breaths Ford. It is what he does and he does it damn well. I hang my hat on what he says.

Such a wrong thing for the dealer to do. Make sure you put up reviews of their practice. I know they don't like that.

It's your only real weapon. A few people have received money from the dealer to remove the reviews. I think there are about 5 different reviews you could post. I'm assuming you are still buying the Mav?

The way I understand it clicking protected only means financing at least on the 22's. That is in Smart Vincent. Unless there is another place where this is specified. Have yet to find anyone who can say where you can look up if the price is protected. Seems like it's an unwritten rule. When I recieve my truck the msrp will be higher than the time I order it. The dealer is supposed to be re imbursed for this difference. Where this is specified I do not know.

I just spent 4 hours at the dealer, in advance of my delivery to avoid a mess, and I have one.

From my research, and the Ford Memo, the dealer is provided a rebate in 45 days of the price difference. They are required to reduce the sale price, and automatically get the rebate.

My dealer doesn't care, and since it does NOT show up in Smart Vincent, he is unwilling to budge.

Ford on the phone is useless. No one knows how to help, they bring up the transition offer, and one even told me " oh yes, you will get a rebate check from Ford" but refused to email that to me so I would have it in writing.

What a mess, partially the dealer, and partially for Ford making it a PITA to price protect rather than just have it an option that appears in the Smart Vincent.

Thanks exactly what I was referring to. But I never seen a Ford memo. Just got to hope your dealer is honest. Unless you have an agreement signed by both parties. Which seems to be not the norm.
