FL Dealers Charging More Than MSRP and Those That Aren’t

I’m tempted to add one more category: ScumBag Dealers - Gary Yeoman’s in Daytona Beach, Dillon Wood, salesman and Mike Holland, Sales Manager! Daily calls and texts with salesman (unreturned calls to manager) then on Monday the truck arrives at the dealership and the salesman calls to tell me the truck had been damaged in transit and had to be returned, but they don’t take pictures? Thanks to a MTC member who ran a Carfax on the VIN I now know it was sold on Tuesday probably because someone offered to pay more if you think this is just wrong join the rest of us and write a review. But by all means stay away and tell your friends about this dishonest dealer!

I agree, we should do this for all states. Florida isn't the only place with pond slime dealers.

This is concerning considering I already placed my order at the Pompano ford location. I did not see any markups on the order sheet. Am I expected to see them when the car arrives?

I would definitely ask because the slimy salesman I worked with never said anything until I finally asked if there was an additional dealer charge. That’s when I learned the added $2995!

Mullinax only does MSRP for ordered Mavericks. I think they sell the Eco's for MSRP as well, but I saw a couple of hybrids available that showed they were adding $1,500 to it and X-Plan only worked for ordered ones and not Lot Mavs. I have an order with them btw as well.

Just got a message from Sarasota Ford. They have a Lariat hybrid they are asking $5,000 over. I offered $2,000 over but said someone would buy it. I asked for an OTD price. In addition to the $32,000 the truck cost, they add the additional "Nitrogen Tires, Paint Protection BS adding another $1400 plus $900 doc fees, in addition to the $5k mark up making it $43,000 OTD with tax. Hell to the No!

Nope! I agree, that's lame. From what I have heard a doc fee doesn't cost more than 99 dollars. Was told if I was charged $100 for a doc fee that was one dollar too much. Nitrogen fee? Tell them to fill with air.

But yeah, NO to that price.

As for my order today I dropped the trifold tonneau cover and swing tool box. My dealer told me those would slow my order down and they can order them and have them in 3-5 days. So that is what I will do. And, after watching some videos I think I like the hard roll up cover better anyway. Once I get a build date I'll order the accessories I want. Only one I kept was the drop in tray liner, they didn't mention that would hold it up. At least it's not spray in.

I'll wait it out, no dealer mark ups for me. No paint protection BS or any of that either. I want what I want.

Yeah, I'm trying to wait it out, but I don't want to get stuck being one of the last of the 22's to be scheduled and then the 23's get scheduled right after with the price protection and better options.

Really I think the biggest issue going against me is placing an order on Jan 25, 2022. If anything that will be my bump into a MY23. Fingers are crossed that the options I dropped will help.

Yours is an Ecoboost though. I think yours is more likely to get scheduled for 22 than mine as I have a hybrid.

And I see on your sig you have 2 ordered. I guess that was a good plan but both are hybrid. Honestly, I would prefer the hybrid. When I first did the "build my maverick" and emailed it to the dealer they said I needed to swap to eco because the hybrids were closed so I changed the order. At that time I did not know how hard it would be to get a Maverick but she did tell me "6 to 8 months". I don't mind waiting but I am not sure my old Ranger will last another year before I have to dump more money in it to get something else fixed.

Mullinax seems to have several a week that pop up for sale but I haven't called (still trying to save up more for a larger down payment). I usually check Mullinax in Mobile, AL but it seems all the Mullinax sites are linked together and when you search Mav it brings up all the dealers. They had one yesterday morning but it's gone now.

I do the same. I'm on lists in FL, GA, and Alabama. I got a call from Peacock Ford in Maitland who had an XL hybrid but looking for a Lariat and they wanted $4000 ADM. First place that actually called me back though.

Brandon Ford has no mark up on ordered Mavericks and $2500 on Mavs that hit the lot. No crazy additional fees. Easy to deal with. Salesman Steven Kirby was a pleasure.

They were delivering like 8 Mavs yesterday when I picked mine up.
