Maverick near crashes on video, have any to share?

Good day,

I have recently installed a dash cam w/front and rear camera (not my first) in my Maverick and already have my first example of a close call.

So here is a thread where I hope to let everyone who has had a photo or video of a near miss, with their own Maverick or (edit for clarity-other personal/family vehicle, for example), to easily contribute!

Crashes deserve their own thread, this is ideally for close calls...crashes would be okay to add of course, all good if you want to add it!

So long as it isn't something found on the Interweb, Please!

Let's show how handy these devices are, and how they can be used to protect ourselves in a pinch.

My (edit for clarity) example photo's show everything you need, green light, under the speed limit and proximity.

I could have added the video, but do you really want to hear me prattle on, I don't shut up...ask my poor wife?! But I do stay engaged in the task of driving.

I did brake hard enough that my camera automatically locked the video, and it is only set to medium sensitivity.

Well, my 2nd post here didn't take long at all to show its self.

Edit - added video.

This is an example of some aggressive driving...I saw them coming up behind and figured what their move was going to be, so didn't slow down or do anything foolish.

My query is, if they misjudged the space between us and clipped me (it looked pretty close in my side mirror which is why I locked the video for taking photo captures for posterity/posting here)(edit-I just figured out how to trim the video's to upload here)....would they have stopped to exchange particulars?

I would guess not...good reason to have a good camera just in case!

Okay, I just learned how to trim video's and added the rear dash cam video to my last post, the near miss from a car racing up behind me!

The video really shows how close they came to hitting my left rear corner.

I do my darndest not to get smashed or worse...so far so good.

And if it does happen where I get hit, I hope my camera catches it, just in case so I can keep my good driving record intact.

It sure does keep us on out toes, though (trying to survive, I mean).

I wasn't going to mention that...but I did say the same thing to my wife...I haven't been able to trim the first video yet...when I have a free minute I can download it again and try.

I can imagine, but I won't look at them as
I don't cruise the interweb very much.

I dont know how close that VW was to our bumper, but it was a close thing...and shows what a camera can do for you in an accident.

I will be posting our videos, be they our Maverick cams or our camper van cam when we hit the road this summer.

I just hope nothing like that Plant City video...that was a horrendous crash.

Well, it took awhile but I have another video from last night...winter driving, a bit of blowing snow on the highway.

We were coming home from watching our grand-daughter while her parents were at school for kindergarten in-briefing for this coming fall.

Relevant speeds - 100 kph/62 mph 2 lane highway, 50 kph/21 mph winds drifting snow across the road... I was doing about 83 kph/51 mph due to snow on the road.

I think the other car was going too fast for the road conditions and hit some of the snow on the centre line and got pulled into our lane.
In the rear cam angle, I think they ended up fully in our lane behind us and maybe had to throw their underwear away when they got to where they were going.

I normally stay to the right of my lane on the highway with traffic approaching from the front, just in case...inches count and will continue this habit.
