Normally , there’s a button to turn off the grade assist (engine brakes when going down hill). I absolutely hate the grade assist, but there’s no button or anything I can find in the dash menu to turn it off. My dealer didn’t know how to and ford tech support couldn’t help either. Can anyone help?

No way to turn it off that I'm aware of, but what I've found is if I give just the slightest touch of throttle while going down hill, it will accomplish exactly what you're looking for. It doesn't take much, I can almost just rest my foot on the accelerator and it will stop from down shifting. Takes little getting used to, but it seems to work for me and almost just a habit now.

Thank you Dave. I’ll do that, I’m still going to see if there’s a way to turn it off. If I find anything, I’ll post it here. Peace bro ✌

Anybody look into Forscan so as to disable the grade control setting

I'd also like to know. I was able to turn this off in the vehicle settings on my '22 Escape Hybrid. I have a small hill in on the back road I take home on a 30mph zone and it constantly downshifts throwing the RPM's up to 2k at that spot (among many else in Montana) but it's most noticeable at lower gears and slower speeds because I am already coasting in the low 1k RPM range and don't need it to downshift. Very annoying.

So I'm reviving this thread in the hopes a ForScan genius has found a way to disable the grade assist, otherwise I'm going hunting for it.

Grade assist is only on the hybrid.
It's constantly downshifting in the Ecoboost when going downhill.

At first I thought it was something to do with hill descent. Nope. Not on.
Then I checked the tow settings and nothing is on. Even with the "trailer sway assist" setting off it downshifts. Sometimes later than others, but I've really only noticed it at the lower speeds around 30-40.

Hopefully not just my transmission. It's a pretty aggressive downshift.
