I had a 2011 F-250 Super Duty that was gray. I decided to put some 2x8 dividers in the slots and it worked very well. I took a color sample to Lowe's and matched the gray metallic as good as they were able. I painted the 2x8s and it worked very well, until the truck burned up (Whole other story).
When/if my Alto Blue Maverick ever shows up, I plan on doing the same thing then. I mostly did it to protect the wood, but figured they didn't need to be some weird color and black didn't work for me.
I may even take them to LineX and see if they have a blue that would work and coat them with it.
