Today I finished up the rack, total material cost was just over $200 for 3 8ft 1x2 tubing and the 3/16 flat bar, ended up abandoning the aluminum roof rack for cost savings and strength. I ended up cutting about 3-4 inches off the original towers as I wasn't a fan of how high the whole thing was sitting and it would be rare I would need to open the tonneau all the way. This was the outcome, this weekend or next I will raptor line the bed as well as paint the rack, and reassemble everything for the final time.

Better late than never for a bed liner. Raptor lined the bed today, pretty easy sand with 150 mask and spray, had enough to get partial coverage on the rack and just hit the rest with some chassis black. All in all it came out alright, reassemble everything tomorrow and the rack can finally get installed

Finally my boxside decals have arrived and got them installed. Looks finished now

Finally picked up a roof top tent, a used but pretty much new Yakima skyrise 3. Hopping to be able to test it out in the next few weekends when I've got time. Folded up it's nice and compact which doesn't look oversized for the mav and I even have room for my solar shower on top of the rack aswell

How hard was the rear bumper cover to get off?

Pretty easy, there are two hidden screws behind the tailights and one on each corner under the tailgate. Rest are easy to see. Light tug pulls it off the box and there is one plug for the plate light that needs to be undone

Took advantage of the long weekend to get out and see what I could get myself into. And I was surprised with how much I was able to get over and through. Besides catching the hitch a couple times and brushing the underside on a washout it handled it pretty good even getting up on 3 wheels a couple times.

My tent on the other hand definitely needs a different mattress, the memory foam that comes with the Yakima skyrise is way too firm especially as a side sleeper.

I feel the need for a solar shower would be nice for longer trips aswell as stuff like dishes or washing off after walking on sand. I believe that will be next.

As long as my buddy can get his 4runner fixed we will be doing another couple day trip next weekend this time a little more challenging.

The building of my slide out kitchen started today. About 8 hours into it and so far it's together and everything closes as it should. Ive got a electric water pump on the way and need to pick up a small container for a sink than cut the hole at the front for that. Tomorrow I need to glue the drawers together and Sand and finish it. I'm not a carpenter so it needs some edges cleaned up but not bad for a quick project

Pretty much the end product, need a better solution for the legs but works for now

That would be sweet, Ive been thinking recently about getting a roof rack but I hate the clamp on style ones, wish ford had put provisions to add a bolt on rack

Did some electrical and finished with cutting out the 'sink' hole, little water pump works great! The switch panel was taken from the bed plate I installed earlier. Guess I need to get a storage cubby to replace that now. Yes I know it's crooked I cut the hole a little too big for the screws to thread into the wood.. just need some proper legs or some nice heavy duty 54" slides
