I ordered my hybrid back in June and have not received any email or communication from Ford about it. Since June (in 6 months) I have made 2 minor changes to my order, color, and taking off the spray bed liner because the marketing team told me that was holding up my build, I've since been told it was not. I assumed the changes would not affect my order status because I have not been told it would. I count on my sales rep to keep me informed about things like that... I emailed my dealer 4 days ago and asked to make one more change since I still have no build date and again because I have not been told it would affect my Priority Code. I got no response from them. I reached out a 2nd and 3rd time and the Sales Guy then made the change and after doing so texted this:
"Each time you change your order, your Maverick gets reshuffled in the scheduling process. Ford needs to plan and allocate parts to build your Maverick. When you change the order, it goes back into the cue to get scheduled, thereby losing your current spot. Leave your order alone and it will get built quicker. ...You moved from a 02 to a 10."
Can anyone confirm or deny this? Had I been told this before he made the change, I would have said "never mind." Had I been told this from the beginning, I would have the same build as I started with.
I'm a real estate agent. If a client told me they wanted to put an offer on a house and I knew of something that would hold up closing, I would 100% tell them before I had them sign contracts to make sure they were still interested. If I didn't, I would not be doing my job.
Rant over.
