Was at this dealership today and the sales guy told me all hybrids are $10K over MSRP.... at the beginning he mentioned 'Mavericks are sold out through 2024.... i didn't say anything as I just wanted to sit in the Maverick.....he wouldn't let me drive unless I said I was going to buy.....at the end he asked what my time frame was I said the order banks open July 17 and I was going to try that.... he said 'you didn't hear me when I said they are sold out through 2024'.

He is saying they have enough pre orders ready to fill their expected allocations.

I know everyone seems to be argumentative, but stop and think about it. How could they be sold out of 24 models when order banks have NOT been opened yet? Not ONE person has ordered a 24 model, so if this guy is correct, then Ford would have to build ZERO to sell out.

Walk into Mac Haik on July 17 and I will lay you odds you can order a new 2024 Maverick.

Exactly.... and no thanks. This dealer has been very anti customer in my opinion for a while. Several experiences over the last 10 years, but they are large and convenient to stop by. In the past I ended up purchasing from another dealer. His question about time frame tells you everything you need to know about this dealer. They can find me one if I'm willing to pay. Last year they had a used XL for $40K, and a used Lariat for $43 or 46K can't remember. Anyway we all know there are a lot of experiences out there, it just rubbed me wrong, especially considering I went to the Chevy dealer next door and they were asking me if I wanted to test drive the new Colorado after I looked at it. I did, it was nice, but my hope is for better MPG.... so it's out for a couple of reasons. Maverick actaully feels slightly better to me..... anyway.... just on a rant here.

You just have to expand your search if you hope to find one. I had to go all the way to Detroit and drive one back for my wife, but did find an XLT hybrid with Lux, CP360, etc. Dealer was asking $3,500 over MSRP, but he threw in a Ford drop-in bedliner, window tint and windshield brow, lettering, fancy side emblems, etc., so when dust settled, I paid just over $2K above MSRP. Had it 3 months, now her Lariat hybrid is getting built, so will sell the XLT with 3,400 mi on it. Here is what I found that I bought for her

Mac Haik sucks. They are not customer friendly. I wouldn't deal with any of their dealerships.

Actually, what the dealer said is more than likely mostly true at least for Hybrids. Most of the dealers in Central Texas have probably 2x to 3x the number of Hybrid orders compared to how many they expect to actually get via allocation. Back in September, most of the dealers in this area where pretty adament that they were going to set all existing customer "un-allocated" orders to Priority 10 and all "new customer orders" to Priority 15 or 19 (as per Ford's recommendation).

I have a Priority 10 Hybrid XL from Lief Johnson and honestly don't expect to ever get it (original order was Oct 1, 2021). If I was guessing, a very large percentage of the current allocations are still going to people that originally ordered way back in 2021 (such as myself). My expectation based on last year is that if you order in July, they will mark your order as Priority 19. When the 23's get closed out (September?) then they will roll all of those orders over as Priority 10 again. Thus, it may be a very, very long time before a new July order ever gets looked at by Ford.

Over the last 2 years I have called/e-maied/walked into the showroom of probably 40 different Ford dealers all around Texas. Some where absolute scum-bags but others were pretty straight-forward. What I got from these conversation is that the Maverick (especially the Hybrids) were very, very popular. The average mid-size dealer I talked to last year probably had 200-300 orders and some of the bigger dealers were probably 500+. One "small" dealer I talked to said that in 2021 they had around 150 orders and only received slightly more than about 1/3 of them. They were not even sure if the 2021 order would get filled as 2023s so were only take a "limited number of new orders". One of the first questions I asked back in September was what was the ratio of Hybrid to Eco orders they were getting. Some would not answer but for those that did the numbers were in the range of 60% to 80% Hybrid.

My experience with Mac Haik in Georgetown has been...inconsistent. I tried ordering my Maverick the day the bank opened, but the salesman I had talked to was clueless and eventually found out he was out of town anyway. I went in, talked to a different (and much better) salesman, and got my order in. Then found out the sales manager had a big backlog to work through to get orders input.

While I was concerned, it eventually went in and I have a build date for my EB in about 2 weeks. As long as my order gets in and they don't try to screw me, then I'll be happy.

This dealership has the red flags of being a stealership. I wouldn't place an order with them even when the order banks are open if they're already trying to get away with 10K ADM and spreading outright bad information about the state of Maverick orders. They'd probably try to jack up prices on people who've waited months or even years for their retail orders when it comes in. Avoid that hassle to begin with by avoiding dealerships like this.

Thanks for the info. I realistically know that if I am going to try for one it won't be with this dealer.... they are just convenient to use as a place to sit in/test drive.

When I placed an order last year it was with a different dealer, which turned out they took to many orders so it ended up not being an order after all.

I bought my Maverick Hybrid First Edition from Mac Haik in Georgetown. It was someone else's order who had bailed on it after waiting several months for the air bag recall to get done (no parts). They were totally up-front about the fact there would be some ADM added to the MSRP, and I was OK with that, given the better than 50/50 likelihood that I would not get my hybrid order built by Ford. Assuming the truck I ordered actually DOES get built as scheduled, I will have owned and driven this Maverick for 9 months by the time my new one gets here. At current prices, I expect to recoup most (if not all) of the ADM I paid because of the high demand for used Mavericks from Caravan and CarMax (among others). I may wind up eating about $2K in the overall transaction, which I consider a pretty decent price for 9 months of Maverick Hybrid ownership. Others may disagree, and that's fine. My money - my choice.

I felt that I was treated well by the dealership, and that they were honest and above-board throughout the process. Even the finance guy was OK, once we established that I was paying cash, and that I had already shopped the price of extended warranties and service plans with Granger. He flat out told me they could not compete with Granger's price, and that was that...

PS - the air bag recall was completed flawlessly by their service department. There is no evidence the headliner and A-pillar coverings were ever touched. (And no windshield squeaks, either. Wish I could say the same for the plastic water bottle my wife insists on leaving in the passenger door holder...)

It seems that some don't understand that some, NOT ALL, dealers will take a preorder before the order banks open and then when they can will enter over 100-200-300+ on the first day! Once order is in then they can adjust the details.
