Mabett fender flares and automatic car wash

Does anyone have any experience with these flares and automatic car washes? I don’t want them coming off and damaging my maverick.

Hi Tony,
I installed these on my 25 Lariat and have run it through 3 auto washes so far without any issues.
I like the way they make my truck look, and if you get them on sale, they're worth every penny. I make sure I armor all them well after each wash.

Personally, I think fender flares are a must for the Maverick, not just for aesthetics, but for the protection they offer against shopping carts, etc..

I know Air Design gets a lot of heat for the price, but they add a bead of polyurethane adhesive alongside the double-stick tape for additional retention.

I'm on a monthly flat rate car wash plan, so I probably run through twice a week. After 8 months, no problem at all.

What does this do for eventual removal, say for a color change or repaint or dent repair or replacement?

Not a problem. I’ve had mine for over a year and no problems.

I used a clear silicon glue for some extra adhesive.

The Mabetts use about 4 or 5 plastic retainers into the fender well, per corner. It comes with the clips, then yes, the double sided tape. Also, no problems, almost 3 months now.

I had installed with the supplied tape go through car wash about 2x a week no issues in the last 8 months
