Lowering spring problems

I seen in another thread that someone was having the same issue I’m having just seeing if anyone else has came across this problem and solution.

At hwy I’m good but just basic slow maneuvering and take off in parking lot speed bumps an uneven road potholes etc it’s a constant squeak and clunking just in the rear. It sounds like old school heated up springs and like it’s loose and you can hear them moving between bed and control arms

Again I’m not going fast over these surfaces I’ve checked to make sure everything is tight isolators back in place and located properly. My lines are all attached I did add the steeda sway bar located on the middle setting which sucked the sway bar a little closer to the axel but still clearance not sure of that might be something that cause tension one way or another.

You realize Steeda doesn't make springs for these trucks? They simply sell the eibach and H&R variants. So which springs do you have?

Steeda escape springs. I got them a while back just now got around to putting them on

Hmmm. If so, that's probably the reason for the problem right there. Just because the Maverick shares the C2 platform of the Escape doesn't mean all suspension parts are interchangeable.

If he bought actual Steeda branded product, then he had to get those. That is all they make. The others are H&R and eibach respectively. I know some changed early on with H&R Escape springs, and while their trucks looked awesome, they said the ride was harsh due to the way the shocks/struts are tuned between the two. That's exactly why I waited for eibach to make an actual Maverick spring.

Cool. So, are you riding the Eibach springs now? How do you like them?

I have the Eibach lift springs. I am getting them installed on Wednesday. Can't wait!

I am actually riding on the stock springs now as this truck isn't the one I ordered. My ordered truck will be here next week or the week after, but it is going to be lowered on the eibach AWD springs. They are sitting in my garage waiting on my truck to arrive.

I have eibach on my 22 Mustang and my Daughter's 22 Mustang. I have never had a complaint with their stuff over all my years of using their products. On the other hand, with other brands I haven't had such luck with.

Yeah the only thing is I asked both other guys that had there’s on the exact setup and both had no complaints. The ride is great it’s just the noise is annoying I’m fixing to put the factory sway bar back on see if that helps if not then take it apart and do it again we’ll see I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar issue

I am not a suspension expert, but I used an inferior spring (RS-R) on one of my Lexus vehicles and it made noise from the day I had them installed to the day I traded it in for a Ram truck. And it was a common problem with their spring. Like you said, start with the sway bar and see if that fixes it, I am not a fan of adjustable sway bars. They are great for a tracked vehicle, but for daily driving I prefer the stock one.

The 1 in drop now it did drop more than that which I like. I got them awhile back before the actual maverick springs came out I just now got around to putting them on.

Oh ok. Well I haven't spoken to anyone with those springs as of yet, or seen anyone's truck just 1" lower. So now I am thinking the spring rate may be different than the others, or even the material the springs are made of. I know Steeda makes quality stuff, but you have to keep in mind they are for the Escape and not the Maverick. Different shocks/struts, weight of vehicle, basically different everything. The question would be if someone with an Escape on these springs makes the same noises your truck makes? I could be reading too much into it and it could be simply putting your stock sway bar back on will fix it, but don't know. I hope you figure it out for sure. Keep us updated.

So narrowed down the problem now that I was able to get it up on a lift. The bushing on the sway bar needed more grease.

Glad you figured it out. Something told me it was the sway bar, but just wasn't sure.
