When I bought my 25 Lariat hybrid I was going to sell my 22 XLT, FX4 with all the packages the dealer offered me 21k, CarMax offered me 27,500 which one do you think I took!
Carmax drove me over to pick up my new truck, I had to show that check to dealer,
they didn't care they will steal someone else's vehicle, with the excuse there saving you tax money.

I bought new 24 Ranger and would not take an offer from the dealer for my 22 xl 2.0 Maverick. today I drive both and enjoy both.

Here in Ohio you don't pay sales tax on the trade in value of a vehicle.

While you still made out much better the dealerships effective offer in Ohio was $22,680.
