Looking for clarification on chip shortages

We constantly hear of Lux packages being a constraint and in the same sentence chips chips……
Looking at the list of XLT Lux package how many chips are we talking about? I have had all of those electrical options on cars long before computer chips were incorporated into the vehicle operating system. I might be old school but an electric seat is a electric seat chip or no chip……..if you told me the chip was for making sure the fuel management system operates as per EPA guidlines I get it….but for things that have a on/off function I get confused….

Dude, integrated circuits have been in cars for nearly 50 years. Ford freaking built their own division just to make ICs 40 years ago.
