Surprised no one posted about last nights video topic on the heated discussions around allocations versus order dates. Looks like Ford is still going to reward performance as most sales program/jobs do. @fordvideoguy please correct anything that I post here as my daughter needed to go to the ER during the stream and watch most of it very late last night into this morning. But the second allocation part that represents 40% of a dealers allocation is changing to a velocity of sales portion. Will now post the two pictures and leave others to explain as the second allocation could only follow in spirit but not understanding the formula.

They had less than 25 Mavericks come through the doors!

I am in the same boat but I feel like my dealer is even smaller so I'll forever be in the rollover club.

I can't believe the Administrator's think calling out Ford's lies is "trolling." What a joke this place as become.

Thanks Daron. Operating on very little sleep and did not see it in the top post and did not search for it. If the Admin could merge the the threads or delete this one. Don't think I can delete the thread and will check the Tim's thread if the formulas are present.

This change is one that does actually make some sense to me, I think . Now that there's historical data to use, it makes sense to reward those dealers that made adjustments and acquired a healthy amount of Maverick orders for 2022. The additional allocation for dealers that are turning vehicles quicker makes sense as well.

All this to say, I'm still not following why Granger Ford doesn't think they can accept new orders until next year. I would think, based on this explanation, that Granger would be in great shape just like Long McArthur will be. I'm wondering if Granger is having way more orders roll over than originally anticipated. Tim didn't indicate that was the case for LM though, so who really knows.

Regardless, it was great to hear that Tim foresees all of this resulting in better deals for the customer. Now, if only Ford can build them.

@skadizzle I would think any new Maverick that is reasonably priced will sell quickly, and at a premium vs the $3k or 3% offers Granger made available. Even 2-3k over MSRP is a big bargain for a buyer.

Even if folks have backed out of Granger orders, I haven't seen a Maverick come up for sale on their website ever lol. So even if that were the case, Granger would certainly take a hit on COVP percentage (because vehicle sold to someone else), but they must still be selling them very quickly, so quickly they don't even hit online inventory. Which should bump velocity numbers.

Hard to say though, I have a feeling there's more going on than anyone can say yet. I wouldn't be surprised if Ford didn't hold up their end with Granger, as Granger was awarded over 100 allocations for this month and it doesn't sound like that many are actually getting scheduled. Which could mean quite a few more orders will be rolling over than originally expected. And if Granger isn't getting as many scheduled, their long and short term numbers will likely be much lower than Long McArthur which is in the same region. Probably why Tim doesn't seem concerned, yet Granger seems rather hesitant.

Algorithms do not build cars. Ford has built the maverick that people want. Just build the cars, do not waste time making a formula to predict the exact sales forecast.

My understanding is there's a process for filing for COVP exceptions. Like if the customer couldn't secure financing (supposedly this is easy for dealers to abuse using a fake SSN that'll auto-decline) or they get written documentation they were declining delivery.

IMO, this is a good thing. I have only 1 Ford dealer in my little town, but there are a couple much larger dealers in our region. My dealer had less than 10 Maverick orders, and I was like #7 from waiting all the way to mid-December to finally order. This made it easy to know where I stood in line and understand my chances of getting built and them getting the allocation for scheduling my order. I got my VIN July 15th and scheduled for production notice August 12.

I suggest if you don't already check in with your dealer on a frequent basis (in person best) you find someone there you can reach most the time and ask how many orders are ahead of you there to still get scheduled. Then ask what day of the week or month they learn how many allocations they get for the month. It takes a lot of the guess work out of it. And if you have, or expect to have your VIN issued then it will get built as MY2022. Delivery is the last piece and timelines all over the place, but getting it built is the hard part to accomplish.
