Back in the day if you had a special model of car the manufacturer put a special badge on the car. Badges like "GT", "Cyclone", Grand Sport" were proudly displayed on the outside and interior.

Maverick has a small badge depicting the model on the front fenders but why not on the tailgate?
So yesterday I went to the CHROME SHOP in Wildwood Florida off I75 to see if I could have some graphics made for the Mav. The gentleman spent considerable time in getting the right font and making it as close to the fender badge without making a blatant copy of the lettering (that might be copy righted).
I made a copy on clear plastic using the template to get an idea of where the graphics should be located.

The letters are laser cut from black acrylic and are 0.125 " thick with an adhesive backing.
If anyone is interested I can supply contact information or JUST search for "75 CHROME SHOP"

IF THEY OFFERED TWO FOR THE PIICE OF ONE IT WOULD A: LOBO LOGO BOGO-----Sorry, I couldn't resist that.

I'd appreciate any comments (good or bad).

I'm leaning towards forged carbon fiber right now. Black looks good, and I think i want to keep that Black+Blue theme, especially with how it matches the blacked out Ford logo.
I just like the subtle difference of the forged cf letters (however, I don't like the look of 'traditional' cf weave that they also offer)

I like the idea of the Lobo emblem, I'd like to see one 'raised' like the Maverick lettering though.
I may even see if I can have a custom one made as: WOLF w0lf Wolf -- maybe not.

Looking at your mock up, I'd personally consider offsetting it to the left some. But thats just my initial thought seeing it.

So I thought of the idea of putting a "lobo" logo on my tailgate but I envisioned something like the exact letters that are in the fenders and seats, if you look closely you will notice there are divots on the letters that stand out than just an L O B O... once I find that exact font I would buy it

That's the kind of input I'm looking for. I'll try a little offset to the left and see how it looks. Will post a picture this weekend.
I tried centering the logo,...no didn't like that, then I tried putting it on the right....didn't like that either.
Thought of putting it up near the top of the tail gate....?
I almost got the carbon fiber/black "MAVERICK" letters but in the end I decided to stick with the LOBO gloss black. Yes, I like the blue/black theme. The LOBO letters are gloss black and 1/8" thick but not rounded edges like the Maverick letters. I have some concerns about cleaning - we'll have to see how that goes.

Im wanting to do something similar. Want a wolf's head badge for both sides, and something for the tailgate. Need to find someone that can custom make a "LOBO" badge that looks like the imprint on the seats. But of course I'm picky and dont want a plastic one.

That is totally different than the Maverick LOBO badge font, and it's chrome. I don't think it would blend with the Maverick LOBO black accents.

I took a couple more pictures today moving the graphics to different places. I saw a TREMER badge someone posted in this thread. It was on the passenger side and close to the bottom of the tail gate. I thought that looked pretty good. Maybe I should put it 1/2 way between the bottom lip and the crease below "MAVERICK".
I don't want to have to remove it later because it doesn't look right. I'll play with the locations some more till I think it looks right.

That looks good. The tail gate seems to have the right place for the graphics (TREMOR & LOBO), Maverick just has the bottom 5 or 6 inches available all the way across. I guess that's why Ford didn't add the badge to the back.
