I will not be using my hitch ever. Should I remove it to save some weight? Maybe have an Exhaust Shop route the exhaust through the empty space left by the hitch? Dual Black Tips!

Yes, I’ve been under to install my Mabbett cover. And scope out the OEM exhaust I’ll soon be removing.I'll bet there's less than 10# difference between the hitch and the non-hitch crash bar you would need to replace it with. As far as the exhaust tips exiting in the center, are you also going to eliminate the spare tire?
Have you crawled under yet to really look at the room available?

Yep - I would need to reinstall when I sell (never!!) or right before I croak (inevitable).Think ahead to the resale value.
Hitches are important to many buyers.
Hot Runr Guy has convinced me to avoid an exhaust reroute. Anyway, the Borla I have on order has nice black chrome dual tips that safely exit behind drivers side rear wheel.Seems like most Mavericks are prone to being totaled in the event of a rear-end collision whether they have a hitch or not. It's your truck; live your life.
If you want to remove the hitch, ditch the spare for a repair kit and inflator, and come up with a center-outlet exhaust, do it! It's a "street truck." Just get it planned out and measure twice before you make any permanent cuts to anything.
Sorry, they call it an impact bar.But my original thought was the hitch delete. Hot Runr Guy also pointed out I would need a crash bar installed instead…currently going down a Maverick rear crash bar rabbit hole![]()
You’re right again - the “hitchless” impact bar would weigh almost the same as my current impact bar/hitch combo.Sorry, they call it an impact bar.
