I just took delivery of my '23 Lariat and want to cover up the infamous open cavern on the left rear before winter. Can those of you who have made fixes post some pictures of what you have done please?

I installed RokBlokz mud guards front and back. The one for the drivers rear is large and blocks most of the opening while still letting air into the cavity. They come with hardware that keeps them from touching the paint and they have worked out well for my purpose. They are expensive for mud flaps but they do address the issue you are worried about.I just took delivery of my '23 Lariat and want to cover up the infamous open cavern on the left rear before winter. Yes, I did a search and already saw this "panel" solution. Thanks for the link though

They won't wear the paint like factory ones?I installed RokBlokz mud guards front and back. Over time I cannot say. They won't wear the paint like factory ones?
Even over time?
That steel cover is awesome. My sheet metal skills/equipment are not up to that standard. Great work @mcc63303There are a few in this thread: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...ut-at-the-left-rear-quarter-will-yours.39968/
Most of them are plastic covers where the mud flaps go (or mudflaps themselves), but there's another fabricated galvanized steel plate thread mentioned there that has instructoins here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...-panel-for-left-rear-underbody-opening.13177/
I see yours is a 23, I was wondering if FoMoCo did anything to address the issue; fully doubted they would. I have a 24 (23 roll-over) scheduled to be built week of Feb 5th, I'm sure I'll have to do the same as I did on my 22. Your rubber sheet will most likely prevent most (if not all) debris from being thrown up onto the back of the driver's side taillight. Keep us informed. Here is my current patch with the rubber sheet. I will watch how well it holds up and protects behind it this winter. I will add a horizontal panel if needed.![]()
The RBs do not touch a painted surface anywhere. Screwed to fender liners with spacers leaving a gap to the fenders. They won't wear the paint like factory ones?
