comes in hybrid. As in optional not standard
The Twitter thread is saying 2.5L hybrid standard. If that's true, that's big news. However, I am skeptical of that. I only say so because those 2.5L hybrid specs sound the same as the 1.5L's typical specs. If the 2.5L hybrid is the new 1.5L and is cheap enough to market below $20k, that great. But then again, that means I well overpaid on my 2020 Escape SE. I'll make the final judgement call tomorrow morning after seeing the official reveal through Ford and their vetted outlets.

I highly doubt hybrid is standard just because of the lower towing cap vs the 1.5

I am still eagerly awaiting the official reveal but, from what I am seeing on the Twitter thread, I agree with the "meh" assessment. Obviously "meh" can turn into "great" if pricing is right.
