Hello All,

I purchased a Lariat Hybrid last week without the luxury package and so far I'm really happy with the truck. The only minor complaint I have is the headrest for the driver and passenger are not adjustable to the front and back (this option is only available if you buy the luxury package). I called my Ford dealership today and inquired about purchasing two of the 4-way adjustable headrest (the ones that come with the luxury package) and just replacing my current ones with those. They told me they could order the headrests (at $145 each) but couldn't guarantee if they will fit. Does anyone have any idea if there would be a major difference in the seats causing the 4-way headrests to not fit? I would hate to spend about $300 and have them not fit when they come in. Thanks for the help.

I don't see why they wouldn't fit. Maybe post your center to center measurement for the headrest holes and the diameter of the hole and cross reference it with a lariat lux owner here.

That's a good idea. I'll measure that when I get home from work tonight. Like I said, I can't think of any reason why they wouldn't fit.

So I was able to take measurements. Center to center for the headrest holes is 5 3/4” and the diameter of the hole is 1/2”. If there’s a Lariat Luxury owner on here who could see if this is the same on theirs it would be greatly appreciated.

I measured 5-7/8” center to center and 1/2” post size. Pic included for the “4 way” in action. It just tilts down a few clicks then the last click resets it back straight up. Not as fancy as some luxury car ones where the whole head rest moves forward rather than tilting forward.

I would say the the 1/8th difference is in the measurer. LOL
Be it the person or the device itself, haha. I used a measuring tape starting at the 1" mark rather than the end trying to be at least a little bit precise. Still not as good as using calipers.

BlueBleed, if you proceed, can you let us know how it turned out? I assume the non-lux head rest pushed your head too far forward. Does the lux head adjust farther rearward?

Yeah your assumption is right. The non-lux headrest was just a little too far forward for me. I ordered the lux headrest from the dealership and it came in today. It’s a very minor, but noticeable, difference in the two. I used the Ford points I got from buying the truck to pay for it. Not sure if the difference is worth the amount they want for the headrest (I think it was around $130 or so). But there is a noticeable difference and feels more comfortable to me.

That sounds like it is within the "hammer to fit" range rather than a true interference fit. I'd go with it.

What is the part number for the tilting headrest? I need it in the same tan and grey color pattern

I find the best way to measure is not center to center. But outside edge of one to the inside edge of the other. Makes it easier to get the edge.
