Hi everyone, let me tell you about our trip so far on out to Yellowstone National Park and then on down to Texas. Well first off let me tell you Yellowstone National Park awesome place to be great fun for everybody. On this trip took our hybrid Mavericks and towed a A-Frame Style trailer puts it right at the max weight limit. Anyway all is great getting ready to leave backing up to the trailer. We stopped a couple of feet from it so that I can remove the trailer ball lock from the trailer. I had to shut the Maverick off to do that because the keys were part of the key ring. Anyway hop back in the Maverick try and try and try to get the key into the ignition. Would only go in about a half an inch, try flipping the key over nothing. Luckily my wife brought her key as well and slid right in and we were able to hook up the trailer and continue on our vacation. So that's a couple days ago finally had a chance to look at the keys side by side. So
on the groove/ slot on the key that didn't work. About a quarter inch in on the metal part of the key on the bottom there was a small black area next to that groove/slot. Looking closer I found this to be a defect in the metal part of the key that actually made that open slot opening slightly wider at the black spot. So I'm guessing that's what kept the key from sliding in. My truck's only a couple months old so I sent a message since I'm away from my dealer Washington. Explaining everything and send him a picture of the key see if it's covered under warranty I hope so anyway just thought I'd let everyone know about the problem or potential problem.
