I bought a dropped Maverick order that came with a bed extender. The bed extender was the only extra thing that I didn't really want and wouldnt have included had it been my own order. Now that I have it, it's cool but I use it more to keep things in the bed from sliding around (so folded in rather than out) but I've only had the truck for about a week.

I ordered a BAK revolver x4s as that was the best looking tonneau for my usage. I completely forgot that the bed extender would cause a clearance issue. Lo and behold these two accessories don't play well together and I would have to remove and reinstall the bed extender to use it every time. Real Truck has free returns and I could probably easily exchange for the Truxedo Sentry CT which I've heard works with a bed extender. However, the whole process of returning and reordering is a pain in general.

Any benefits to having both? I feel like just saying to hell with it and keeping the BAK revolver and selling the bed extender since I didn't anticipate having it in the first place.

You can use a piece of wood in the bed as an organizer to keep things from sliding around, and you can just remove the BE and store it somewhere just in case you need it later

Why don't it work? Clearance issue bed extender to tall? I have a F150 with a bed extender and tonneau cover works fine. But I use the bed extender to keep things in the back. A piece of wood would work on the Mav.

The side rails protrude too much to allow the bed extender to flip in and out.

I agree… swap it out and get the bEd cover that plays nice with your bed extender -it will be worth the pain of doing the deed… of course if you do not think you are going to need the bed extender at all just simply return it and either use a piece of wood to contain things from sliding around or a bed net you can use the envelope style vertical or horizontal or both to contain things in the bed they are about 15 bucks a pop!

Considering just storing the bed extender in the backyard or selling it. I like the design/materials of the BAK revolver too much to swap. The only roll up tonneau that works is the Truxedo Sentry (from what I can tell) and I don't like that it utilizes velcro.
