Joining the Club from Texas

Greetings and Salutations fine humans, just picked up my XLT Tremor on Wednesday.

Joining the club through pure luck as I had been on a waiting list for quite a while at my local dealership in case anyone backed out of their Maverick order and one became available. Was likely going to be purchasing a Hyundai Kona N that same evening, but my Ford dealer called just before lunch to say someone backed out on a Tremor order and it was available. So I took a long lunch and excitedly raced to sign the paperwork!

I have a fair amount of experience with the EcoBoost platform from my Focus RS. Plenty of blood, sweat, tears, and lots of money invested to make her a fun former daily (broke my right arm and re-injured left knee, so manuals are difficult for a while until recovery from surgery) and light track duty (HPDE mostly) ride. I've been a gearhead since childhood, grew up on a farm fixing tractors/trucks and worked as a welder/fabricator/general mechanic for a stint.

Very excited to get to cracking on the Tremor and would like to be able to contribute back into the club as I did with the RS community! Cheers!

Certainly! I only have this one from my phone so far as I am still dealing with a busted leg and broken arm so its hard getting out to take any proper nice photos in fun scenery just yet but at some point I plan on getting plenty of action shots off road.

I happened across an entry on cars dot com showing a Tremor coming in to an AutoNation dealership near Frisco/The Colony, called them up and they told me it was in transit as a customer order but could put me on a call list if it falls through. Went up there and chatted with them about it to show them I was serious about wanting to buy the thing if someone backed out.

Thankfully for me they did and I am glad that I didn't wait until after work to start the paperwork because I saw/heard two other people come in wanting to look at it/buy it in the hour I was there at lunch time!

I can't stand dealing with dealers too much. Thankfully I actually had a very positive experience with these folks before when I was searching for my Focus RS and they ended up finding me one of the 2018 Limited Editions back then.

It took me talking to 2 different sales people and some kind of manager person before they seemed to take me serious about wanting to buy it. I got the call from yet another sales person telling me it was available.

Yeah it does suck and unfortunately this isn't my first time in these situations, but I've never been down an arm and a leg at the same time so that's a new one for me. Thankfully everything is on the mend and I may be able to avoid surgery, which is also a positive thing haha.

Great. We are actually putting together a Maverick meet up in Frisco maybe toward end of May if you are interested. Just a breakfast meet and greet. PMme if interested
