January 2023, after my 1997 GMC Sonoma failed its state inspection, I went to a local Ford dealer to talk about ordering a Maverick. The response was that the 2023 order book closed in one week and come see us in July to order a 2024. June 2023, went back to the dealership and the salesman seemed unfamiliar with the Maverick and had no sales materials.

Soon learned about Ford Build & Price web site. July 17, 2023, sent my unicorn build - XL Hybrid (Atlas blue, CoPilot 360, hitch receiver, bed mat) to three local dealers. By accident, ended up at a different dealer with no 2023 rollovers and good allocations. Was also the first customer to order a 2024 that day. I expected to get the truck April or May at the earliest.

Went through all the normal tracking and production issues (build date pushed back, one month in production - assume fixing the issue with the lights). All is said and done, picked up the Maverick Saturday. Have added the bed storage cubby (driver side), Mabett mudflaps, and floor mats (WalMart special). Been exploring all the new features - obviously, the Maverick is an upgrade from the 97 Sonoma.

Throughout this process, MTC has been a tremendous source of information. Just wanted to say thank you to the contributors.

No picture - there are no significant modifications - looks like a blue XL

Hey Mike.

Congratulations on getting your Maverick! And you are correct - a unicorn build that was actually built and delivered.

Now that you have it, perhaps one of the next mods is to add a Maverick Truck Club decal so you can properly “represent.”

Two styles/sizes available:

Maverick Truck Club Decal (Glossy) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($5 delivered)

Maverick Truck Club Decal (Transfer) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($6 delivered)

The Maverick is quite the upgrade over my 05 Ranger as well.

If I'm not mistaken you will absolutely love just going from a single cab to a crew cab. At least I did years ago. You don't even realize the difference until you have it at your fingertips or the availability of the extra room. Hope you enjoy the Maverick for many years. Nice looking truck. Thank you for the pictures.

Bought the Sonoma on ebay for $3400 and drove it for 20 years. When my daughter was much younger, my wife, daughter, and I would squeeze in the front bench. Can't do that anymore. So, yeah, really like have the four doors and rear seat.

I don't have my Maverick yet. The 08 F150 crew I put a lot of stuff under the seat besides on the seat and floor boards. Even, coats, groceries etc.. yeah it's great using it for what it was intended for with the back seat. Let's be realistic, if it's a daily driver it's majority just carrying the driver. Still that extra room gets utilized almost on a daily basis. It really comes in handy. I look at the Maverick as a swiss army knife or a multi tool it offers so many uses, depending on how it's equipped. Best of luck, again great looking truck.
