I spotted my future '24 Maverick Lariat FX4 in Hot Pepper Red at my dealership early this afternoon. It just arrived off the transporter with another load of Mavericks. It will be going in for a PDI today and I'll be able to take delivery sometime tomorrow. I will be trading in my beloved '22 Ford Maverick Lariat in Area 51 that I've had for the last couple of years. Although it's a fair swap, one Maverick for another Maverick, it's still bitter sweet. My first Maverick has been the best vehicle I've ever had. It drives the best, looks the best, has the most features, and despite the recalls, the most reliable. The 2.0L Ecoboost is a great engine with plenty of power, satisfying turbo noise, and gets pretty good fuel economy on the highway. But it'll be nice to not have a drastic change in scenery. I'll still miss my first one though.
I decided to get the FX4 because my family and I are planning to move back up North to be closer to family and for a good job opportunity. So I figure I get something a little more capable to drive in the snow/ice. Also, the hill descent control was a must since the location we're thinking of has a lot of uphills and downhills. Not totally necessary but it gives me a better state of mind. Lastly, I wanted Hot Pepper Red because not only have I enjoyed this color since it came out, I've always been a fan of metallic colors since they sparkle in the sunlight and do a better job at hiding imperfections such as scratches, chips and dings. Since this was an upcharge color, I plan to take as good of care of it as possible. I'm crossing my fingers that all goes well tomorrow and there's more posts to come. Thanks for reading and enjoy your Maverick club members!
