I spotted my future '24 Maverick Lariat FX4 in Hot Pepper Red at my dealership early this afternoon. It just arrived off the transporter with another load of Mavericks. It will be going in for a PDI today and I'll be able to take delivery sometime tomorrow. I will be trading in my beloved '22 Ford Maverick Lariat in Area 51 that I've had for the last couple of years. Although it's a fair swap, one Maverick for another Maverick, it's still bitter sweet. My first Maverick has been the best vehicle I've ever had. It drives the best, looks the best, has the most features, and despite the recalls, the most reliable. The 2.0L Ecoboost is a great engine with plenty of power, satisfying turbo noise, and gets pretty good fuel economy on the highway. But it'll be nice to not have a drastic change in scenery. I'll still miss my first one though.

I decided to get the FX4 because my family and I are planning to move back up North to be closer to family and for a good job opportunity. So I figure I get something a little more capable to drive in the snow/ice. Also, the hill descent control was a must since the location we're thinking of has a lot of uphills and downhills. Not totally necessary but it gives me a better state of mind. Lastly, I wanted Hot Pepper Red because not only have I enjoyed this color since it came out, I've always been a fan of metallic colors since they sparkle in the sunlight and do a better job at hiding imperfections such as scratches, chips and dings. Since this was an upcharge color, I plan to take as good of care of it as possible. I'm crossing my fingers that all goes well tomorrow and there's more posts to come. Thanks for reading and enjoy your Maverick club members!

Nice! Looks great! Just curious when you ordered and when you received your built email?

It didn't take long to be honest. A lot quicker than my first one. I ordered Nov. 8, scheduled for production week of Jan. 15 but got pushed to week of Jan. 28, built Jan. 30, and shipped Jan. 31. So total time from order to delivery, just under four months. The first one took six months which wasn't bad considering it was ordered almost three years ago when many were having to wait over a year for theirs.

Congratulations on the new Maverick. Thanks for the pictures and the great review on the 22. Best of luck with your move back up north.

OP, when you say you want hill descent control because it's hilly - you might read the online manual description of the limitations of that feature. If you're thinking snowy conditions, you might be better off with slippery mode. That's what I use on my very steep drive for the rare snow and ice - and it really makes a difference. For daily usage - AWD and the normal transmission logic handles it fine.

PS: A year later, I still love the HPR color. Never gets old.

In regards to the hill descent control, I was thinking downhills for the whole year, not just for the snow. So if that's the case, when is the appropriate time to use that feature?

Hi Connor.

Congratulations on getting your new Maverick! The HPR looks super in your pics.

Perhaps one of the first mods is to add a Maverick Truck Club decal so you can properly “represent.”

Two styles/sizes available:

Maverick Truck Club Decal (Glossy) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($5 delivered)

Maverick Truck Club Decal (Transfer) | MaverickTruckClub - 2022+ Ford Maverick Pickup Forum, News, Owners, Discussions ($6 delivered)
