Is the XL climate control really manual?

I was looking at an XLs climate control, and you could select a temperature and there was an auto button. However, in the brochure, it says the XL has single zone manual climate control. Which is it?

It is a manual single zone. However it has an automatic feature with temperature select.

You can set the temp to whatever degree you want with a dial and it keeps it there.
You can also keep it off Auto and manually adjust it yourself.

Option to automatically remember the most recent setting. That feature on or off function accessed via the dashboard menu, IIRC.

It varies both. I keep mine on 71 or so and it gently and barely noticeably does what it needs to to keep the temperature. It’s just like what you get on the higher trim levels but doesn’t have separate controls for the driver and passenger. In my wife’s suv they’re typically synced anyway.

Learned this after a few weeks. Agreed!
Also the max defrost button works great as the last thing to press when you park for the night and expect to use the remote start from your phone app in the morning.
