Love the forum, so much information.
So I read the threads, get semi educated on the subject, watch lots of YouTube’s and decided to test drive the new offering.
Loved it but not exactly what I wanted, so with a clear and logical mind I decided to order my truck.
I never did this before so I decided to treat myself and order exactly the truck I would want, no compromises for what’s on the lot, not this time.
My Ford dealer has been great, and Ford had stated they wanted to shift their business model to more of a custom order system so I think all the parties were on the same page, a win-win if there ever was one.
I tell you what I want, they provide it, I’m happy, they get my money so they’re happy.
Now this isn’t McDonald’s, and I’m not in a rush so 6 months is fine with me. Working in the supply chain I get the “new normal“.
Delays happen.
But what I’ve noticed, and if I’m not alone in this (?) all the manufacturer’s should take note (I assume they watch these forums), is it’s been less than a month for me and instead of experiencing the elation of receiving my new truck and planning all the accessories I’m likely to buy for it I’m starting to feel emotions I think I shouldn’t…
Like I’m waiting for a shoe to drop or the manufacturer screw me over (not the dealer, though they’ll be the one to deliver the bad news)…
Just the start, mild, but they are there.
Long post, sorry, but as much as the internet creates positive chatter for the manufacturer I can’t help but notice the other side of that coin exists.
Since I committed the internet has already got me on edge over bed liners, heated steering wheels, factory closures and multiple other tales of woe…
Before the internet I would have no idea of any of this.
I can only empathize with the people who have been on this roller coast from the beginning.
Hopefully things get better because at this point, I wonder.
