I have a 2022 XLT with Lux package. I've noticed on the temperature control knob it does not display the current temperature as is shown on some similar models. I presume they omitted a chip. Is there any way this chip could be added now? I would like to have the temperature setting displayed as intended. I know I can turn the knob and see the temperature setting on the console but would rather this function as intended.

I am already planning on replacing the climate controls with the ones with the temps on the knobs as soon as my Tremor Lariat arrives. @Redneck Garage did a great video on it thats here in the forums somewhere. I plan on doing a step-by-step write-up of the process including the specific changes in ForScan you need to make to make it work. I plan on checking to see if the 3-wire connector to add the console ambient LED is there as well. My only problem is that I have to wait until April to do it.

Oh, I thought it was just missing a chip. Not sure if I want to go through all that. But I do miss having the current temp. setting displayed.

my 22 has it and I’m going to have to see if it annoys me not being there on our 23. I do like it, but hate tearing into a new vehicle

The readouts are missing entirely on the one you have, and the layout is different as well. Internally, there are other changes, too. Thats why its not just a simple controls swap. The video on it notes the heated seats, heated wheel and even the AC itself doesn't come on simply swapping units and you have to change a few things to make it work correctly. It seems easy enough to do though. Just wish the dual-screen unit wasn't $375 :)

[EDIT]
This is what the other unit looks like. Its hard to see here, but the fan speed LEDs are not on the left knob, they are above the fan speed control buttons as well:
