I first will say I really like these just for protection.
FYI for those that care and can’t do these I have had great luck here in the snow by having my felt either linex or the maverick raptor lined myself. Cheap and definitely outlast the felt. 200k plus miles going strong in my edge.
But when off roading I need this protection. So I’ll be getting these.

The instructions seem to show one that actually seats inside the round portion the bolt goes through, so maybe it was re-designed to avoid potentially moving when you remove the skid plate bolts?

Either way, it's got the quick oil change stuff so I don't see much need to constantly remove it once it's up. Probably not a big deal.

I think I'm just trying to justify not spending money at this point 🤣

Because I really want one.
It's fairly easy to do, this is the first work I have done to my own vehicle ever and it was fairly simple with the knowledge on this forum, my under-felt was already removed, so it just took me no more than 40 mins to do and I messed up a couple times to boot

It's coming. The driver side is the only side that actually needs protection. There's nothing under the felt on the passenger side. The hybrid has stuff that runs down that side.
Please support us in our quest to have the plates made for hybrids as well, I like the fuel economy and have no need to tow, but I still like camping and trailblazing and would like to ensure I don't rip anything out from underneath just in case I slip or don't account for something, idiot insurance if you will

Constant construction alone is enough of a reason for me.

Do you notice any abnormal steering sounds when turning after skid plate install? Mine makes all types of noise after installing Nothing is loose. Any help is appreciated.

I've had no issues. No weird sounds.

Could you make an oil change video to show how easy or hard it is with the new skid plate?
I just changed my oil a couple thousand miles ago. If I remember, I'll try to get one, but it's pretty simple. Just use a plastic cup to take off the oil filter once loosened, which I already did due to the revised fascia angle.

Someone posted it made a mess of oil with the skid plate. I would like to see what it really is like, does oil end up everywhere?

Never seen oil filter removal cause such a mess before compared to my FX4 - I now puncture the filter on the bottom and let as much oil drain out before unscrewing.

Use a solo cup or quart sized ziplock bag. Problem solved.

As long as you use a cup for the filter it doesn't make a mess. Same as when the stock plate is removed. The angled front fascia is what causes the issue.
